Appendicitis
Appendicitis is an infection of the appendix with painful swelling. Appendicitis is a form of abdominal disorder in which the appendix becomes enlarged, swollen, and filled with pus. The appendix is a little pouch shaped tube, which looks like a small finger. It starts from the large intestine and it linked up with the small intestine, in the lower right side of our abdomen. There is no function for appendix now in human body. But may be it played some role in our ancient ancestors who ate a much more fibrous diet than us. Appendicitis is a swelling of the appendix generally need surgical treatment.
Specialists are still in confusion that what the appendix is for. Recent studies point out that appendix may be an environment in body, which may helps in digestion and fight bacteria. Appendicitis normally strikes persons aged between15 to 30, but it can have an effect on people of any age.
