Causes and Sysmptoms of Alcoholism



Why can one person drink alcohol regularly and never have to concern about developing body disorder known as alcoholism, while another person is in danger by simply taking one sip, what causes alcoholism in someone and not in other? Like the beginning of many other disorders, alcoholism may trouble one person and not other is due to individual factors or conditions. There are lots of possible causes of disease called alcoholism. Factors that causes alcoholism are listed below:

Genetic

If someone parents or grandparents were passionate to alcohol, the probabilities are strong that younger one will be exposed to this habit (disease). Offspring of alcoholics will not essentially become alcoholics, but there is little possibility of that.

Emotional Makeup

Many people use alcohol to block the problem in the life. People use alcohol is used as a coping tool and there are definite stress hormones that contribute to the development of the disease.

Psychological

People who are suffering from depression or low confidence have more probability of development a drinking problem.

Social

Alcohol is officially permitted, easily available and drinking is socially okay. Alcohol is encouraged greatly in the media, and having a little beer before, during and after an occasion is now become part of culture. There is a silent pressure to drink, to be a part of the gang.

Frequency

Drinking alcohol frequently can cause alcoholism. People who drink frequently and habitually over time may be at possibility of developing an addiction of alcohol.

Age

Possibility of developing alcoholism in young people is greater, particularly if they start drinking by age 15 or sooner.

Gender

Men are more likely to develop the alcohol addiction than women. Symptoms and signs of alcoholism are not always straightforward. Arrests due to drinking or job loss because of heavy drinking can be symptoms of alcoholism, but they happen very late in the disease. Lots of symptoms occur earlier, but they are harder to detect. These symptoms include:
  1. Increasing easiness in drinking alcohol.
  2. A growing anxiety or curiosity in drinking, drinking alone or drinking before any important activity is some initial state symptoms.
Other symptoms of the disease are:
  1. Hiding alcohol or drinks.
  2. Quick drinking of first few drinks
  3. Wanting to drink more and more, than the remaining crowd.
  4. Losing control and than efforts to control drinking
