Causes and Sysmptoms of Allergy

About 45 percent of us experience some form of allergies. And they are mostly terrible in spring and fall, when pollens are high. Allergies are not only about runny nose and scratchy throat. Actually, allergies are caused due to reactions in immune system. Substances in the environment known as allergens cause allergic reactions. Approximately everything can be an allergen for somebody. Mainly allergens include protein, which is frequently regarded as a part of the food we eat. Actually protein is an organic compound, containing hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen, which is an important component of living organisms.

The most common causes of allergy or allergens are: pollen from grasses and trees, moulds, house dirt mite, pets (such as dogs and cats), pests (like wasps and bees), industrial and domestic chemicals, some medicines, and foodstuffs like milk and eggs.

Less common causes of allergies or allergens are:
  1. Fruits, nuts, and latex
  2. There are several non-protein allergens that include drugs like penicillin.
An allergic person's resistant system or immune system suppose allergens to be destructive and so produces a particular type of antibody (IgE) to hit the attacking material. This leads other blood cells to liberate extra chemicals (including histamine), which collectively cause the symptoms of an allergic reaction.

The most common symptoms are:

Sneezing, itchy eyes and ears, runny nose, coughing, severe wheezing, shortness of breath, sinus trouble, a sore taste and nettle-like spots. It should be understood that every symptoms point out could be caused by factors other than allergy. In fact some of the situation are disorders in themselves.

When asthma, headaches, eczema, loss of concentration, lethargy and sensitivity to daily foods such as milk and milk products, fish and fruit are taken into report than situation is considered as full scale of allergy.
