Sign and Sysmptoms of Asthma

The cause of asthma is difficult to understand, but it may be partially hereditary. Every person’s lungs are sensitive to different stuffs like air pollution, pollen, or some strong chemicals. In easy words, persons with asthma have lungs that are extra sensitive than normal. There are three major course of action in the lungs that makes asthma symptoms.
  1. The inside layer of the airways become swollen. Due to swelling less room left for air to pass through.
  2. The muscles in the region of the airways become stiffen and further close them.
  3. The airways create mucus in reaction to the swelling, which block the shrunken tubes.
Asthma is in type of allergic reaction. Some external substance that particularly irritates your lungs may trigger it. These triggers are normally little protein particles called allergens. Common allergens that causes Asthma are, grass, ragweed pollen, tree, house dust mites, presence of cockroach, moulds, and animal dander

Some people can get an asthma attack from something they swallow like anti-inflammatory medications, nuts or shrimp, preservatives used in drinks and foodstuff.

Normally Asthma develops in early stage of life (in childhood), but adults can also become asthmatic by being long time expose to allergens. People who work with the subsequent products may be at greater risk. These products are foams and paints, cotton and flax, grains and cereals, antibiotics, detergents, packaging and Insulation materials

Non-allergic irritants can also cause sometime Asthmatic attacks, Causes include viral infections like the common cold or the flu, smog and smoke, crying, shouting, laughing hard, sudden breathing of cold air, strong smell of perfumes, paint fumes, cleaning products and vigorous exercise

Asthma has no specific pattern. It can be can be mild, moderate or severe. Asthma can differ from person to person and flare up from time to time and sometime not appear for long periods. Generally in case of severe asthma, these symptoms may occur at night.

Basic Symptoms of Asthma are:

  • Shortness of breath
