Common causes of fever are:
- Approximately all type of infections can cause a fever. Some common infections are
- Respiratory track infections like flu or cold, sore throat, sinus infection, Bronchitis, mononucleosis infection, and ear infection
- Urinary Tract infection
- Severe infections like pneumonia, appendicitis, skin infection (cellulitis), tuberculosis, bone infection (osteomyelitis) and meningitis
- Bacterial gastroenteritis and viral gastroenteritis can also cause fever
- After some immunization, children may have a low fever for a day or two
- Teething may cause a minor rise in a kid’s temperature, but normally it is not higher than 100 °F.
- Inflammatory or Autoimmune disorders also cause fevers. Few examples include:
- Arthritis or connective tissue sicknesses like Rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus
- Periarteritis nodosa or Vasculitis
- Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease
- In some cases the first warning sign of a cancer is may be a fever. This is mainly true for leukemia, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease
- Other probable causes of common fever include
- Blood clotting or thrombophlebitis
- Medications, like some specific antibiotics, some seizure medicines and antihistamines,
Common Symptoms Of Fever include:
- Increased body temperature and sometime low temperature
- Headache, Nausea and Vomiting
- Slight shivering
- Heaviness and burning in eyes
- Pain in body parts and joints
- Dehydration
- Fatigue
- Some cases Insufficient flow of urine and in some cases abundant flow of concentrated urine
- Fast pulse rate and respiration
- Plentiful of sweating
- Lot of perspiration
- Coated tongue
